The tested Volkswagen ID.3 Pro S had 62,137 miles on it, had been filled over 100% multiple times, and spent several days on the charger. Volkswagen does not recommend overfilling the battery or leaving it on the charger for long periods because it can reduce battery capacity. Even though the tested model is considered to be mistreated by VW standards, it still maintained 93% of its original battery capacity.
The testing organization plans to do more testing at the 99,419-mile mark to see how well that figure holds up.
